From Valpolicella to the Food Valley (Emilia Romagna): The Medici Ermete Experience
Sensory experience of our vinegars
After an introduction to our history, the terroir, and the grape varieties cultivated on the Estate, the tour gets to the heart of the experience: discovering the acetaia. Here, you will see the sets of wooden barrels where our Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia PDO is produced. This is followed by a tasting of 3 different Traditional Balsamic Vinegars PDO (Lobster, Silver, and Gold labels), featuring different aging periods (minimum 12 years and over 25 years).
Classic wine and vinegar tasting tour
We will welcome you among the vineyards to share the story of the Medici family and our winery. We will then immerse you in the Medici Ermete Style as we explore the acetaia and its historic barrels, where we produce our Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia PDO. Next, it will be time to discover the Wine Museum and its collection of ancient tools. This is followed by a tasting of 3 different Traditional Balsamic Vinegars PDO (Lobster, Silver, and Gold labels), aged for different periods (minimum 12 years and over 25 years), along with a tasting of 3 of our sparkling wines paired with a selection of light snacks.
Premium wine and vinegar tasting tour
With this tour, we throw open the doors to our world—we want you to feel like part of the family.
Alongside our history, the vineyards, the terroir, the acetaia (where we produce Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Reggio Emilia PDO), and the wine museum, you will enjoy a tasting of 3 different Traditional Balsamic Vinegars PDO (Lobster, Silver, and Gold labels), with various aging periods (minimum 12 years and over 25 years).
This is paired with a tasting of 3 of our sparkling wines and a selection of local delicacies: savory stuffed croissants, mini focaccias with prosciutto and salami, erbazzone (a traditional savory pie), sweet and sour pearl onions served with Lobster Label Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, Parmigiano Reggiano served with Silver Label Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, and finally, our Gold Label Traditional Balsamic Vinegar served pure.
